அலைபோல் நடப்பாய் என்கின்றார்
துகள்போல் குதிப்பாய் என்கின்றார்
நிலையில் லாத உலகத்தே
நீதான் உயிரின் உயிரென்பார்.
நிலையங் கள்பதி னான்கினிலும்
நீயே துளைத்து நிற்பதனைச்
சிலரே தம்முள் தாம்கண்டார்
சிறுமியின் மத்தாப் பிலும்கண்டார்!

யாராய் எதுவாய் இருந்தென்ன
யார்க்கும் நீயே வாழ்வன்றோ!
நேராய் எமக்குத் தெரிவதுவாய்
நெஞ்சக் குழிக்குள் புரிவதுவாய்
வாராய் ஒளியே! வளர்களியே!
வார்த்தைக ளோவுன் வாகனமே!
பாராய் எம்மைப் பரிவோடே
பாலனம் செய்தல் உன் கடனே!

நெஞ்சில் வீட்டில் நிகழ்வுகளில்
நித்திய அருளாய் நிலைத்துவிடு
கொஞ்சும் கவிதைச் சொற்களிலே
கும்மி அடித்துக் கூத்தாடு
தஞ்சம் ஒளியே! தாயே! உன்
தாளும் முடியும் யாரறிவார்?
கொஞ்சம் ஓய்வு வேண்டுங்கால், என்
குடிலில் நுழைந்து குளிர்வாயே!

They say you walk like waves
Or jump as particles
In this unstable world
You are hailed as the life of life
You pierce through and pervade
All the fourteen planes of existence
Only a few have seen that in them
And in the sparklets that a little girl holds.

How does it matter who are whatever you are
Aren’t you the life of everyone?
Come O light, the growing bliss
Subtly unto us and right in front of us!
Inspired words are your vehicles
Cast your benign glance on us
Yours is the responsibility to protect and maintain us.

Remain forever in our heart, home and circumstances
Run riot and dance in glee in our verses that cajole
O light! Our mother! You are our refuge
Who knows your head or feet?
If you seek some respite
Enter my hut and cool your heels.
